Humans can survive almost anything
How would aliens react when hearing about the crazy things that humans have survived. Like one day they are sharing stories about the crazy things that they have survived or have heard stories about. One of them asks a human who was listening, comparing the differences between them, what type of things either they have survived or what their species has survived. The human comes up with this story that happened in their family.
“My family is accident prone, it’s not uncommon to hear about how my grandfather fell off of the ladder/truck/roof, while they were roofing it, or how they will shoot a nail through their finger with a nail gun, or almost breaking something when they figure out that they are no longer 20-like when my dad tried to a giant tree stump that was about 2 feet thick and 3.5 feet across, by himself, onto the back of his truck which was 4 feet off if the ground. He almost had it, another inch and it would’ve been on the truck, but his back gave out, and be thought that he broke his back. The stump is still where it fell.”
At this point the human realizes that the aliens in the entire room and not just the ones at the table were staring at them with mouths, or what passed as mouths wide open. It came to a shock to the aliens that even some of the humans were dumbfounded at hearing this.
“Then there’s My grandpa on my dad’s side, he has had two heart attacks, a couple strokes, both knees replaced, is color blind to red, green, and brown, and has diabetes. He is 72 and still goes caving and hiking.”
No one has said anything yet so they go on.
“But the biggest injury that I k kW of and that someone survived was my great uncle on my mom’s side of the family. He used to work on oil rigs, one day he heard a noise coming from one of the pressurized air pipes. He went over to it and looked in it to see what was going on. It exploded. The explosion shot him into the air. All of the other workers said that he went so high into the atmosphere that they couldn’t see him. When he landed he broke his back, neck, and lost his left forearm. Through out his life he broke his back a total of 3 times and his neck a couple more times. He never was a hindrance to his family. He did almost everything by him self.”
A few aliens passed out by the end if the story. Even some if the humans were surprised by that. Their great uncle had pretty much gone to space, involuntary, and survived the fall back down.
The aliens agreed that they were going to have to update the human guided to say that while highly unlikely humans can survive almost anything. Normal civilian humans and not trained military humans.
(all of the examples used have actually happened in my family.)
Or this conversation,
“So, how many times have you almost died? That you know of, obviously.”
“Do I include stuff that almost killed either of my parents before I was born?”
“Sure, why not.”
